How do we get started, you ask? Typically, I kick off our journey with a brief discussion to ascertain your learning objectives, your sources of motivation, and any specific preferences or deadlines you might have in mind.
For those who aren't beginners, I'll proceed with a straightforward assessment that includes reading, listening, and speaking exercises to better understand your needs and desires.
Based on these insights, I will craft a personalised curriculum for you. Each individual possesses distinct language-learning needs and abilities, so I draw from my extensive toolkit to ensure your lessons are not only effective but also engaging and enjoyable. My aim is to make your learning experience both efficient and enjoyable, tailored to your unique requirements."
What method do I use?
I don't rely on conventional methods or textbooks (unless you prefer to). Through years of teaching experience, I've come to realize that most available materials are often too sluggish and lack the necessary focus. Consequently, I've developed custom materials exclusively for my students, designed to be more efficient and intuitive. In essence, my instruction is tailored to your specific needs; I emphasize what's essential and skip what isn't. I also infuse engaging cultural tidbits to make learning enjoyable.
How long does it take and what is a reasonable duration of time?
It depends on your objective:
- If you are looking to spend one week in Paris for a shopping session, you need between 30 to 40 hours - This is my level 1 or A1.
- If you wish to speak to your French family-in-law, talk with friends, and mingle with the French while working with them or traveling in France, you would need 40 to 60 hours (after the level1). This is my level 2 or A2.
- If you plan to become French (if your spouse is French), if you are working in a French environment, or if you need to express your ideas and feelings, you would need 40 to 80 hours (after the level2). This is my level 3 or B1
- If you need to migrate to France for work purposes or study in a local university and in need to be fluent in French, you would need 70 to 150 hours (after the level3). This is my level 4 or B2
All these durations are purely indicative and are based on my teaching method and my experience. It varies according to your motivation, your memory, your ability to combine elements, the class frequency, and the time spent doing your homework, …..
How to start?
I invite you to book two lessons first to evaluate my method and understand how I conduct a class. Then, you will be able to proceed with more classes if you like it.
Please note that I am only available to teach adult or students ages 10 and up.
