Experience and Dedication: With over 10 years of teaching experience over various subjects, I embarked on my journey as tutor, currently specialising in comprehensive teaching spanning primary and secondary levels. My students hailed from prestigious schools like Red Swastika, Anglican High, CHIJ, and Saint Anthony. One of my most notable accomplishments was guiding a dyslexic student who faced significant challenges in primary school. Initially placed in the foundation maths stream and struggling to pass exams, his school teachers deemed him suitable for NT stream only. However, I remained dedicated and provided patient, detailed guidance, resulting in remarkable progress. He not only passed his exams and PSLE but excelled in them, ultimately entering the NA stream despite the initial NT classification. Throughout his primary and secondary years, I continued to tutor him in various subjects, focusing on maths. He received multiple awards for most improved student and consistently topped maths tests and exams in both primary and secondary levels. His exceptional performance even earned him the prestigious Edusave Scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Education (MOE) to the top 10% of the cohort. I am resolute in not giving up on my students, regardless of the challenges they face. Typically, my students remain under my guidance until they graduate. My approach involves cultivating a strong rapport with students while prioritizing the establishment of a solid academic foundation. By instilling confidence and systematically guiding their progress, they are well-prepared to tackle more challenging concepts with ease. I firmly believe that every student is unique, and I tailor my teaching methods to cater to their individual needs. Additionally, I develop personalized study plans, focusing on strengthening their weak areas, to ensure their progress and success.

Experience and Dedication: I’ve been a part-time tutor for the past year teaching students science. I had previously tutored Science for a P6 girl who struggled to elevate her grades nearing her PSLE, consistently scoring borderline passes (AL6) on her mock tests. Within 2 months of nurturing her grasp on the main concepts and polishing various question tackling skills, her results began to improve by two bands (AL4).
With a strong ardor for science, I am well-versed with various extensiveness of the subject, and is proficient in using diverse methods to navigate different topics. Hence, I am positive in helping students propel with improvements, boosting their morale for the subject and drive to succeed.
My teaching methods:
• My teaching is focused on enhancing a student’s understanding of complex concepts by simplifying them with thorough explanations for an effective absorption of knowledge by the student. These concepts will be implicated with reference to real-life examples, to aid better retention of the cultivated knowledge.
• I will also guide students through practice questions and impart tips on tackling the various question types so that the student learns to transcribe their knowledge to meet the grading criterias independently.
• I will regularly revisit and apply concepts learnt in the adjacent lessons for my student to practice active recollection to impart long-term memory of the acquired knowledge.
How I am different from other tutors:
• I am able to pivot around my student’s learning pace, ensuring quality of the knowledge absorbed by the student.
• Being a student myself, I strive to remain approachable to create a safe environment for my students to ask questions and clarify any doubts with me.
• I believe in providing every student the opportunity to excel in their subjects by instilling a motivation and strong conceptual understanding of the subject.
