Experience and Dedication: I am an award-winning teacher, specialised in teaching English at both the Pri and Sec level. I was awarded the Outstanding Youth in Education Award (2004) and a British Council Gold Medal for Best in Literature (2000). I hold a Bachelor of Arts with Diploma in Education from NIE/NTU and a Masters in Literary Studies from NUS. As I also hold a Masters in Counselling from Monash University and am a certified counsellor and mental health coach (Ngee Ann Poly), I am able to use a blend of teaching and coaching techniques to support a child to do well in English. Previously, I taught English and Literature for 7 years in a scondary school before working at the MOE English Curriculum Planning and Development Division where I was part of the team that wrote and implemented the English and Literature syllabi. I had also held postings as Assistant Director (MOE) and Vice-Principal of a JC. Currently I am a full-time tutor who is passionate about helping students appreciate the beauty of the English Language and master the linguistic skills required to excel in school and national exams. I coached my daughter in 'O' Level English last year and she obtained an A2 grade. My son is taking the PSLE this year and I am delighted to be able to support him in this journey.
